Your app will only connect to Rocket League if Rocket League is running. If GYG is still not connecting after opening Rocket League, you can try connecting via a different method in Settings.
Performance Mode
Performance mode will lock the Gif Your Game app while a game is open and kill all background functions to reduce CPU usage on low end hardware.
